Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Training

SPHERE Partners can access a range of GCP training resources via online self-directed training modules or via facilitated workshop format (ie. face to face via videoconference or in-person). These resources have been adapted for the Australian Clinical Trial environment and are provided via the Sophie Mepham GCPTM training license.

Training suited to staff working at site level with patients (ie. Principal Investigators, Sub Investigators, Research Nurses, Research Coordinators, Pharmacists, Data Managers and Clinical Research Assistants) includes:

  • Introduction to GCP - The intro to GCP course is relevant for above site staff who have not completed prior GCP training. This course is CPD certified and TransCelerate accredited. The course can be accessed via online self-directed modules (approx 2.5hrs) or in a facilitated workshop format (approx 6hrs). A certificate of completion will be provided via completion of course material and successful quiz completion.
  • Refresher GCP - The Refresher GCP Program is suitable for above site staff who have already completed Introduction to GCP and need to keep their knowledge current. This course is CPD certified and TransCelerate accredited. The course can be accessed via online self-directed modules (approx 2hrs). A certificate of completion will be provided via completion of course material and successful quiz completion.

Training relevant to staff who may see Clinical Trials patients as part of standard of care but who are not part of the core research team (ie. clinical staff, radiology, pharmacy, pathology, biostatisticians and data managers) includes:

  • GCP for associated staff (or Short Session GCP) - This training provides a high-level overview of Good Clinical Practice and can be accessed via online self-directed modules. The training is NOT TransCelerate registered and does NOT attract CPD points. A certificate of completion will be provided via completion of course material.

For further GCP training queries and access to upcoming facilitated workshops (ie. face to face via videoconference or in-person), please contact Research Support Officer Natalie Walsh.
