Ethics Exchange: Consent in challenging circumstances

Speakers: Kirsten Boggs, Jennene Miller and Bronwyn Hemsley.

Ethics Exchange is a joint professional development initiative of Local Health District and University human research ethics units across the partners of SPHERE. Each session invites guest speakers to provide their insights to encourage discussion of the ethics review considerations raised. The sessions are targeted to current ethics committee members.

Consent is a cornerstone principle in ethics review. How do we ensure that a project seeking consent in challenging circumstances can still be considered to meet the requirements of ethical research?

Hosted in partnership with the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network.
