Rural Kids GPS
Kids Guided Personalised Service (KidsGPS) is a care coordination service at SCHN, first established in 2015 for children with complex medical needs. RuralKidsGPS, recently awarded NSW Health Paediatric Priority Funding and a TRGS, will expand and adapt this model of care with an impact, implementation and economic evaluation across four rural sites; Murrumbidgee, Southern, Western and Northern New South Wales Local Health Districts. The KidsGPS model has demonstrated a 40% reduction in ED presentations and 42% reduction in day-only admissions over 2 years, saving the health system $2.5million/annum and families >50,000km of travel.
