6pm - 12am, Saturday 23rd November 2024

Join us for an evening dedicated to advancing research and addressing health inequities in culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. The SPHERE Musculoskeletal Theme Leads, in collaboration with the Whitlam Orthopaedic Research Centre (Liverpool Hospital), are committed to improving outcomes for osteoporosis and sarcopenia in CALD populations. This initiative aims to establish more accurate reference ranges for DXA scans (bone density and sarcopenia) and enhance the uptake of fracture/refracture/falls prevention strategies.

In support of this important work, the Whitlam Orthopaedic Research Centre and Saigon Sydney Entertainment, with the endorsement of SPHERE, are hosting a fundraising event. Dr. Thuy Anh Bui, post-doctoral researcher at WORC/Ingham Institute and Director of Saigon Sydney Entertainment, has rallied strong community backing to ensure a successful night.

The event will be held at the Liverpool Catholic Club on Saturday, 23rd November, with special guests Ms. Dai Le, Federal MP (Fowler, Cabramatta), and Mayor Frank Carbone (Fairfield) in attendance. This is a fantastic opportunity for the SPHERE community to contribute to impactful research and build valuable new connections.
