Non-Attendance Policy–Cancer CAG Events and Workshops

The Cancer CAG provides educational workshops and events regularly throughout the year. These workshops take a considerable amount of time, effort, and funding to organise. Despite best attempts, we repeatedly see non-attendance from those who have registered. This results in significant food wastage, as well as other finite resources.

Moving forward, the Cancer CAG will now implement a policy for non-attendance without sufficient notice provided. Sufficient notice is defined as a minimum of seven (7) days prior to the event.

Penalties may include:

  • Ineligible for future funding opportunities including Cancer CAG Seed Grants or PhD Scholarship Top-Ups
  • Banned from attending future events
  • Repeated non-attendance for PhD related events will result in supervisors being contacted

We understand that there may be issues beyond one's control that prevent them from attending without providing notice, and these will be considered. However, it is regrettable that this approach needs to be considered, and we would appreciate your cooperation moving forward.
