Optimising standardised PROMs and PREMs for clinical decision support and global benchmarking in maternity care
23 September, 11am - 12pm
Speaker: A/Prof Valerie Slavin, (Joint appointment) Associate Professor School of Nursing and Midwifery, Griffith University, and Women, Newborn and Children's Services, Gold Coast Health
Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) and Patient- Reported Experience Measures (PREMs) are essential to delivering value-based maternity care, but integrating them into routine practice remains challenging. This presentation hosted by SPHERE's Nursing and Midwifery Implementation Academy outlines the development and implementation of the Maternity Assessment Questionnaire (MAQ), which incorporates the ICHOM Pregnancy and Childbirth Standard Set into routine clinical care. Using early findings from a South East Queensland maternity service, A/Prof Slavin will discuss practical lessons for implementation, opportunities to enhance woman-centred care, and potential for broad adoption across health services.
